Aside from slapping myself on my forehead because I swear I have heard that before, I genuinely needed your comment. So, could you go ahead and read all the books and let me know what they say? :) I never seem to finish them... I truly think I have some deeper issues going on with finishing parenting-ish books, but I never stick with them long enough to figure out what it is. It's like I get one good thing and am giddy and hyped up for a day or two and then things get challenging again and I don't go on to read from page 2 on... Anyway, thank you. But who carries playdough around? Such a good question, so few answers. The parenting books I've been reading lately talk about reflecting back to the munchkins: "Boy, you're angry." "You seem frustrated." "Wow, you really whacked that item and seem to want my attention." This is in the hopes of a) not projecting our own crud on them, 2) not judging, iii) giving them space to process. Great in theory, a little hard to put into practice for this Irish-tempered mama.
